THE STORY BEHIND

My inspiration for this scarf is a beautiful gouache painting by Queen Marie of Romania from the manuscript she created in 1906 for her husband, King Ferdinand I. The stylized cross is a prevailing symbol in Queen Marie’s paintings, evoking memories of revival and faith. The little gentian flowers inspire kindness and integrity and were a usual encounter during the queen’s horse rides in the Carpathian Mountains. Gentian flower’s purple color is also a symbolic reference to royalty and spirituality.

KIND CHARM scarf is part of “Queen Marie’s Manuscript” collection. This collection is an homage to Queen Marie of Romania. A symbol of elegance and strength, Queen Marie dedicated her life to democracy and social justice. But she was also a romantic, creative and passionate woman.
