THE STORY BEHIND

My inspiration for this scarf is a beautiful gouache painting by Queen Marie of Romania from the manuscript she created in 1906 for her husband, King Ferdinand I. The round, solar cross is a prevailing symbol in Queen Marie’s paintings, evoking memories of revival and faith. The Royal Lily or Lilium Regale, her favorite flower, inspires kindness and generosity. The lily is also the flower of dreams, its ravishing fragrance having hypnotic properties.

BLOSSOM OF DREAMS scarf is part of “Queen Marie’s Manuscript” collection. This collection is an homage to Queen Marie of Romania. A symbol of elegance and strength, Queen Marie dedicated her life to democracy and social justice. But she was also a romantic, creative and passionate woman.
