THE STORY BEHIND

My inspiration for this scarf is a beautiful gouache painting by Queen Marie of Romania from the manuscript she created in 1906 for her husband, King Ferdinand I. The stylized cross is a prevailing symbol in Queen Marie’s paintings, evoking memories of revival and faith. The fragile irises, one of her favorite flowers, inspire hope, carrying within the connection between earth and heaven.

BLOOMING HOPE scarf is part of “Queen Marie’s Manuscript” collection. This collection is an homage to Queen Marie of Romania. A symbol of elegance and strength, Queen Marie dedicated her life to democracy and social justice. But she was also a romantic, creative and passionate woman.
